Chapter 35

“You know, I’ve finally rearranged the schedule.” Brayden blurted out 5 days later.

“Did you?” Lillian inquired, nose still in her book.

“With added features.” Brayden teased, poking her side.

They were curled up in her bed where they were both reading, Lillian tucked up into his side.

“Alright, what do you propose this time?” She smiled up at him.

“M’kay, so, New Years Eve I’ll have my pretend victory kiss, I just couldn’t find a work around for that one.” Brayden joked. “Then we get into January, I’ll start separating my stuff from James’s in the apartment and start looking for a new place.” Winking down at her.

“Easily in February we’ll have both given up this abstinence thing, especially when you see what I have planned for Valentine’s Day. So, I will need my own place by the end of February or else I’ll stop caring if your whole house can hear you.

Since I threw the whole - waiting until March to start the whole work thing - out the window, March will be pretty normal, you’ll help me move in, decorate, meet my family.” He added in casually, and Lillian’s eyes shone.

“Since we’re also skipping all that time you spend being in denial, by April you’ll be telling me you love me, because I mean, how could you not. You still won’t move in with me though until you feel like you can contribute financially, so you’ll still wait until you have a job, but it’ll be really soon after you get a job so I’m thinking July.”

He didn’t mention the fact that there was no way he was letting her pay to live with him, he has more than capable of supporting them. Brayden planned to use whatever she was paying to pay off her student loans, since she would never agree to live rent free.

“So, we’ll be happy and domestic by the end of the summer. I’m thinking we’ll take a little trip at the end of August, not to the mountains, I saw that look.” Brayden chided her as she tried to protest. “Eh, shh, this is my schedule, when it’s your schedule we’ll talk. We’ll go somewhere different, you lunatic, I’m thinking like Mexico or Hawaii. The next couple months will be pretty normal relationship stuff, we’ll fight, have great make up sex, blah blah blah. Into the holiday months, we’re holding hands, going shopping together, its cute its mushy.” Brayden waved off.

“The next year will be mostly the same, you’ll be doing your master’s degree and working your big girl job, I’ll feel less like walking garbage because of my job. It’ll be bliss. I’m thinking by your 28 th birthday I’ll have proposed, or I’ll be working up to it. We’ll get married the next year.

I did decide to stop planning at this point because I figured you’d get mad that I assumed anything about what you’d do in married life. I think it should be your plan after that.”

“That – is a lot more plan than you had before.” Lillian looked at him stunned.

“I literally said it had added features.” Brayden scoffed with a laugh.

“You really think you’ll marry me?”

“I don’t think I’ll marry you - I will marry you, in 3-4 years.” He rolled his eyes and smiled lovingly down at her.

Lillian searched his eyes for a while, just looking back at him.

“I love you.” Lillian murmured, sitting up.

Brayden stared at her in shocked silence for a minute. He felt his heart stop and start again, beating so hard he could hear it in his ears.

“I spent the last week, reworking that schedule just for you to what? Throw it out the window IMMEDIATELY, AGAIN.” Brayden cried, grabbing her around the middle and shaking her lightly. His hands shook where they held her, so he gripped her tighter.

Lillian laughed weepily, tears running down her face. Brayden’s arms gobbled her up kissing the tears off her face.

“You’re going to keep doing this to me for the rest of my life aren’t you?” Brayden cooed into her hair squeezing her against his chest.

A squished nod was her only reply. Brayden pulled away and started peppering her face with kisses.

“I love you too.” He murmured back when he finally kissed her lips.

“I’m not changing the plan, by the way, just call April empty. Maybe I’ll get a cat or something instead.” Brayden mumbled, after kissing her slowly for a while. “If you thought you could trick me into dicking you down 2 months early you were sorely mistaken.” He teased.

“Those were not my intentions! I did want to throw a wrench in your little life plan though. Hearing you say all of that again, and going even further? Talking about this future you see for yourself, well I just realized I waited a long time for it and I won’t wait anymore, not for my future.” Lillian whispered lovingly, holding his face in her hands.

“I still think you’re trying to trick me into fucking you right now, and it’s working.” Brayden growled teasingly.

“Come anywhere near me with those intentions and I’ll start throwing things again.” Threatening him. “This time, we’ll stick to your plan. I’m thinking Hawaii, and your cats name will be Jinx.”

“For you? Anything.” Brayden whispered hoarsely, pulling Lillian into his lap and burying his head in her neck.
