Chapter 11
Brayden herded Lillian out the door and into the hallway. Her giddiness was infectious, and he found himself smiling bemusedly at her shifting her weight from one foot to the other in the elevator. When they landed in the parking garage, Lillian just grinned at him and made her way towards his truck. She stopped dead in front of the passenger door.
“You don’t have any steps?” turning to him.
“Uh no, I guess I don’t.” Brayden smirked down at her.
“How am I supposed to get in there? Especially in a dress? It will not be lady like!” She winced.
Brayden grinned down at her mischievously and wiggled his eyebrows. Lillian gapped at him.
“What’re you thinking?” She glared.
He stepped around her and opened the door winking back at her gesturing inside. She huffed exasperatedly and gestured to the giant step up from the ground and the truck floor.
“C’mon, just climb on up there, I wont peek.” Brayden teased.
“You said you wouldn’t tease me for the rest of the night!”
“Well, I meant I wouldn’t tease you very specifically about your very pretty dress. Now get over here, I’ll help you up.”
Lillian skeptically stepped forward and used the shoulder Brayden offered downlow to hoist herself up into the truck. Now when he said he wouldn’t peak, he had every intention of meaning it, but when her rear end passed by his bent over head, the full panty shot he got was not his fault. When Lillian looked back after sitting down and he was still staring at where the pretty white and lace panties had stopped him dead, she smacked him hard on the shoulder.
“You said you wouldn’t peek!” She cried.
“I didn’t want to see them I swear! I mean not that I don’t want to see your underwear!” He blabbered. “I mean I didn’t see them!” Brayden pleaded. “I swear.” He added meekly.
He just covered his eyes with his hand and groaned in defeat. He was not a 16-year-old boy so why on earth did this girl’s, vanilla ass underwear, have him acting like he’d never seen a pair before? Like he hadn’t taken off countless pairs of underwear in far more dangerous and sexy styles with his own teeth? A month ago, he was watching her bend over in his fridge with a creeper stamped across her cooch like it was no big deal at all.
“I’m sorry.” He muttered up at her.
When he opened his eyes to face his defeat, he found her barely containing her laughter.
“Have you never seen a pair of girls underwear before?” Howling. “Oh god the look on your face! You’d think you were just a boy still. Brayden, you’ve probably seen more pairs of underwear than I own. You’re killing me.” She sputtered and curled in on herself to laugh.
Forgetting the lady-like sentiment, her knees curled to her chest and her panties flashed him again.
“Oh-kay! That’s enough out of you. I haven’t seen that much underwear alright.” Brayden scowled. “You’re also doing a really good job of making sure I get a good look at yours. What are those? Victoria’s Secret? Probably a cheekini, I believe it’s called, considering how much ass I just saw.” He smirked and took another glance between her legs when she shot her knees down and her hands tucked her dress in tightly.
She blushed deeply at him.
“You win, you win. I’m sorry I implied you’ve seen that much underwear. Now please stop describing my own to me!” Yeilding.
“Whatever you say.” Brayden smirked and mock bowed at her. “However, that look on your face says you rather like it when I describe your own underwear to you.” He winked and closed the car door on her agape mouth.
She was still bristling when he climbed in his own door and beamed over at her. Lillian shot him a furious glower which Brayden just laughed at as he started his truck and pulled out of the parking garage.
“You know,” He started sheepishly “I really do think your dress is very pretty.” He almost whispered.
She flicked her eyes up at him, watching him under her lashes.
“Thank you. James said it was too plain on me when I bought it, but I thought it was classy.” She murmured back.
“It is, very classy, that is. Like a Disney princess on her day off.” Brayden winked at her. “And it doesn’t look plain on you at all. James’s two braincells away from being a fucking vegetable. Don’t listen to him, besides he thinks athletic wear is fashionable.” Brayden grumbled.
“That’s mean Brayden.” Lillian scolded, but amusement flickered in her eyes as he looked over at her briefly.
“You’re right I’m sorry, he is at least 3 braincells away from being a vegetable.” Brayden conceded.
Lillian just rolled her eyes and laughed. Brayden grinned over at her. He swore his heart fluttered every time she laughed for him like that. It took all his skill to keep them in one lane. Lillian reached over and turned on his radio, the country station blasting louder than they both expected, but she didn’t move to turn it down. She beamed out the window and sang along quietly. He could hear her faint voice under the music and joined in. Much louder than her.
He wasn’t bad necessarily, but he wasn’t good either. She whipped her head to him as he belted out the lyrics, her grin making her whole face glow. Lillian joined in much louder than she was before. She was much better than he was, he decided, and he let her take the crescendo all on her own. His smile nearly breaking his face as he joined right back in when she noticed he’d stopped. They were still singing along to all the songs that played when they arrived at the restaurant. Brayden had done his own little research while she showered and found this popular spot. He helped her gently out of the truck, dignity intact.
“Jeez Brayden, this is so fancy.” She said in a hushed voice.
“You don’t say?” Gesturing to his outfit.
She finally took in the slacks and loose linen button down he was wearing. Brayden winked at her.
“And what if I had put on sweatpants, you were just going to let me come here like that?!” She squeaked.
“No of course not, I had multiple places in mind depending on how you came out of that room.” Brayden shrugged nonchalantly.
“That’s a whole lot of thought just go out to dinner.” She narrowed her eyes at him.
“Well, you took so long in the shower I had to do something while you were in there.”
“Hmm.” She hummed at him suspiciously.
“We’re here now so let’s go in.”
“Alright.” Lillian conceded.
He offered her his arm in a gentlemanly fashion with a less than gentlemanly, lecherous grin on his face. Lillian took his arm begrudgingly and followed him into the restaurant.
“Table for 2?” The hostess offered generously when they approached the desk.
“Yes, thank you.” Brayden replied.
“Right this way.” The hostess grinned at Brayden unabashedly.
He skillful ignored the attention and turned to Lillian.
“After you.” He whispered conspiratorially in her ear with a light push forward.
