Chapter 43
Bonus Celestial Blueprints
LIORA VELTHARA NYXARRAH She was turned in 1525 (born 1498). She is a creature of the Renaissance, the Inquisition, and a much harsher, more superstitious world.
I always saw her as obsessive, transformative, feral, deeply secretive, with a core of volcanic emotion lurking beneath her mask.
· Sun in Scorpio - This was non-negotiable. She is the archetype of it to the extreme: intense, secretive, powerful, psychological, and possessive. Love to her is complete consumption. Her anger is so intrinsic and deep that it drives her to plot a centuries-long vengeance. Her power, her real strength, is in her hidden depths.
· Moon in Aries - This is the volatile key to her character. Her external Scorpio calm is a lid on a boiling Aries moon. I have this placement, and we feel everything with immediate, overwhelming, and often selfish intensity. We feel it fast and hard, but it goes as quickly as it arrives, too.
Rage, passion, fear, and even love—it’s all a five-alarm fire inside her, and she hates it. Her Scorpio exterior remains a placid, deadly lake, and that’s how she wants to be seen. It’s her control.
Her Aries moon explains her impulsivity, her “act first, think later” violence, and why she can’t quietly nurse a wound—she has to destroy its source. Then possibly burn it, burn the ashes… yes. That’s Liora.
· Rising sign: Capricorn - This is the mask she wears to navigate the modern world. It gives her that ancient, imposing, unshakeable authority even when she recognises nothing or wishes things were more like her past.
She disciplines herself, controls herself, and is ambitious.
It’s her “Velthara Nyxarrah, Bringer of Endless Nights, Keeper of the Veil” public persona. The world never gets to see the sobbing woman in Ash’s arms.
· Venus in Scorpio - Her love and desire are totally fused with her Scorpio sun. Love is an obsession, an addiction. Attraction is a dangerous game of power, violence, and surrender. She finds herself drawn to the hidden, the taboo, and everything intense.
She could never love a simple man. And Ash is the first thing she couldn’t predict.
•Mars in Leo - Her drive, the anger she can’t shake, to her way of fighting—it is always dramatic, proud, vicious, and commanding. She will win.
She always stages a spectacular victory as it’s a performance to her. Her form of artistic expression. She wants to be acknowledged as the most powerful being in the room.
Liora in a nutshell is a hidden volcano (Scorpio Sun/Aries Moon) wearing a mountain’s face (Capricorn Rising). Desperately seeking the one thing that won’t flee, won’t fear her, and the one who’ll stay.
Even when she’s tearing him to ribbons and biting his head off for interrupting her morning brooding session. Or forcing her to listen to modern rap music. (It’s angry poetry! She’ll come to love it) ASHTON ‘ASH’ ELIAS VOSS · Turned in 2020 (born 1989). Our millennial menace.
He’s cynical, tech-savvy—thank you to my dad for helping with that aspect!—shaped by the information age and its brutal impact and absurdities. He is determined to learn everything he can if it enables his survival.
I always saw him as a frozen fire. Witty, freedom-loving, controlling, and adaptable on the surface. He’s got a deeply hidden, protective, and nurturing core that horrifies him, though.
· Sun in Sagittarius - This is his mask, his personality. It shows his wit, his love of taunting Liora, the “scribble in the margins” philosophy. It is the root of his arrogance, and his deeply ingrained thirst for new experiences.
He uses humor, insults, and intellect as a weapon and a shield against the horrors he faced before Liora found him.
· Moon in Cancer - This is the hidden core that horrifies him! Ash’s secret soul. The most important placement for him. His Sagittarius sun is the joke he offers the world; his Cancer moon is the wound he can’t heal or couldn’t while surviving alone.
This placement makes him fiercely protective, deeply loyal. He secretly craves security and a “home” he hasn’t had for years. It’s why he needs to be Liora’s anchor, and why he needed her to be incapable of living without him. It’s the source of his “thorough” devotion.
The poor thing is, at his core, a nurturer trapped in a predator’s body. It’s tragic. And it’s powerful once it meets the home it can protect.
He will ruin it to build it back better, though. As he did with his book, rebuilding and reclaiming her past. The mirror on the front that she has to look into when she holds it.
It’s him saying, “You know I see you… now, see yourself as I’ve written you—remembered, eternal, and real. You don’t get to erase it again.”
· Rising sign in Gemini - This is how he presents himself to the world. It shows him as quick, clever, mercurial, perhaps even a little detached. It fuels his hacker mindset—seeing patterns, manipulating information, his mind always being “on.” It’s the facade that makes people underestimate the depth of his Cancer moon’s pain.
A Cancer moon’s pain is vast and deep as the ocean. Their symbol is a crab and they like to sidestep it all. He can drown himself in it, if he allows it, and he drowns Liora in it purposefully.
· Venus in Capricorn - His love is loyal, enduring, and practical. He doesn’t fall in love easily, and it takes a bit for him to open up, but when he lets himself love, it’s a vow he intends to keep until he dies.
He shows love through actions, confrontations, and protection. He wants to build something that lasts forever. This placement is the stable counterweight to Liora’s Scorpio Venus obsession.
· Mars in Scorpio - His drive, fight to survive and his wish to be remembered, even his sexuality is pure, undiluted Scorpio. It’s obsessive, transformative, and all-consuming—no escape from it once it’s set its sights on the one thing that can tolerate it.
This is the direct line to Liora’s soul. When they fight, insult, argue, and fuck, it’s his Scorpio Mars speaking directly to her Scorpio Sun. They dance together. They understand this language at the cellular level.
Ash in a Nutshell: is a wounded homemaker (Cancer Moon) hiding behind a sarcastic philosopher (Sagittarius Sun) who fights and fucks like a demon (Scorpio Mars).
He’s a cocky little bastard, but Liora secretly loves it. He likes to bleed for her, so he lets her pretend.
The Synastry of Their Cosmic Bond · His Scorpio Mars conjunct her Scorpio Sun/Venus: This is the engine of their relationship. It’s an atomic-level attraction. They trigger each other’s deepest passions, unearth their insecurities, and ignite their many power struggles.
It’s fated, intense, and unavoidable. Literally on a collision course set by the stars. (By me, but I am the witch who designed them—so same thing!)
· His Cancer Moon opposite her Capricorn Rising: His deepest emotional need (nurturance) challenges her external persona of cold control. He forces her to be vulnerable, and she gives his emotions a stable structure to cling to so he can keep them locked away.
· His Sagittarius Sun trine her Aries Moon: Their core energies get along, especially when they’re arguing. His wit and philosophical banter (Sagittarius Sun) excite and stimulate her raw, impulsive emotional nature (Aries Moon).
He makes her feel alive; she gives his ideas a fiery reality. He’s the only one who can keep up with her.
I always thought of their banter almost like a ‘rap battle.’ Each of them are trying to dissect the other, destroy each other, by wit and words before they draw first blood. There’s a rhythm to it. Poetry in insults and threats and soon-to-be-scarred flesh.
This chart—keep in mind it’s based on fiction and some details might not be quite right in the real world—creates a bond that is unbreakable because it’s about love. But it’s also about two broken, prickly, and complementary puzzles finally clicking into place.
He is the home her Aries moon never knew it needed. And his Scorpio Mars was built for her transformative obsession.
The Synastry of Sex and Why He Fills Her · His Scorpio Mars on her Scorpio Sun/Venus:
This is a sexual and spiritual nuclear reactor. It’s compatibility with recognition built in from the start. Their intimate connection is a conversation their souls have been having since before they fell for each other.
He knows how to touch her, how to make her scream and beg, because it’s how he would touch himself.
· Her Aries Moon and His Moon in Cancer: this creates a volatile, profound exchange. His deep, nurturing, all-consuming emotional obsession (Moon in Cancer) meets her immediate, fiery emotional need (Aries Moon). He satisfies her hunger and makes her feel safe in her greed.
· His Pluto in Scorpio (a generational placement. Most millennials have Pluto in Scorpio) conjunct her Sun: Sex with him is a transformative act for her. It’s a death and rebirth of her old self every single time. It’s why she kept running from it. Why she couldn’t accept him until 120k words had been published. He is the only one who can take her to that edge and bring her back to herself once she’s gone over it.
And that greed she has? He loves it. He needs it.
His Cancer Moon’s ultimate fantasy is to be needed, to provide a home that someone cannot live without. Liora’s voracious hunger for him is the ultimate validation of his existence. Her greed makes him feel essential, and he hasn’t felt that in his life.
As soon as that bond formed, he fell first. Despite his claims of only wanting Liora to have control over his life, to survive, and not have to run from hunters forever, something in him recognised this was better. This was what he needed more than revenge. More than survival.
· His Sagittarius Sun’s love of adventure: He sees her unleashed passion as the greatest exploration, a thing to be worshipped and never shamed. Unlocking Liora’s desires and secrets is the most thrilling quest of his immortal life.
He wouldn’t be happy with anyone else because there’s no challenge in it. There’s nothing to conquer or claim or possess.
Liora is the cypher, the endless mystery he wants to spend eternity decoding.
Hopefully, she won’t destroy whatever tech he has a few hundred years from now! Who am I kidding? That’s the point.
Somehow, they managed to find the only other person in existence able to match their freak. Their love is Biblical in the worst (best) sense.
And that is a bond formed by the stars long before they met. Probably too much work to build these characters and their relationship. But I enjoy doing it, and it’s been my guide since the first time they slept together.
That’s when I realised that this wasn’t the silly ‘Deadpool Meets Interview With the Vampire,’ dark comedy smutty story. The one I originally planned. The bones remained the same, but the story that grew from this gave them mythic weight within their world.
They will be remembered because they will ensure they are.
